Global Cash Card™, the leader in customized paycard solutions, left its mark on the recent American Payroll Association (APA) 27th Annual Congress, May 19 – 24, 2009 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA. This year the company sponsored keynote speakers; Washington´s most loved couple, James Carville and Mary Matalin. Carville and Matalin´s comedic political insight was well received during their presentation titled “All Fair: Love, War, and Politics” at Thursday´s General Session. Immediately following this event, Carville and Matalin joined Global Cash Card executives in their booth to meet and greet trade show attendees. The response was overwhelming.“The action at our booth was non-stop. People were lined up in the aisles trying to get in,” said Michael Purcell, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Global Cash Card. “We scanned almost 700 badges over the course of two days.”
“The paycard market is very competitive,” stated Doug Wolf, Senior Manager, Vendor Relations with the APA. “Global´s decision to sponsor our keynote speakers really distinguishes them as a thought leader in their industry, not only in the exhibit hall, but in the minds of their prospects and customers.”
“This was definitely our most successful tradeshow ever,” stated Micki Nolan, Director of Business Development at Global Cash Card. “Despite the current economy, we had a very successful show. Yes attendance overall at the show was down, but those who did attend were more actively engaged. We had an amazing response and qualified a large number of excellent prospects that I expect will result in a number of successful clients.”
As a leader in the creation, development and implementation of the industry´s most advanced paycard technology systems, Global Cash Card used its booth to showcase its professional solutions and services. According to Nolan, even Matalin was impressed, commenting that the paycard was a “very intriguing concept.” Visitors to Global Cash Card´s booth were also the first to preview the company´s new commercial advertising campaign that kicked off in June with the slogan “The Formula for Paycard Success.” This series of six commercials will play one at a time each month on the APA website at http://www.americanpayroll.org.
“Our theme for the show was “Paycards so easy you can´t lose” and we made certain everyone who visited was made to feel like a winner,” stated Purcell. One of the booth´s focal points was a Global Cash Card slot machine. Like the Global Cash Card show theme, visitors who decided to play just couldn´t lose as the machine consistently produced nothing but all sevens! Prizes included T-Shirts, baseball caps, flash drives, Global Cash Card™ paycard shaped cookies, and many more choices.
“We definitely made an impact,” Purcell further stated. “We were honored to host Carville and Matalin and it was exciting to show our visitors the technology and solutions we offer. I am certain attendees will remember our booth as one of the highlights of the Annual Congress and our company as a dominant market presence.”
